As the number of Covid-19 cases continue to increase globally, healthcare workers need adequate protection. Without protection, COVID-19 cases and mortality might be high among those working on the frontline, affecting critical care capacity.
Nigeria is already experiencing surge in number of cases, which will invariably result to a shortage of essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies.
As part of its continued support to Kwara States’ healthcare provision, PharmAccess donated sets of Personal Protective Equipment to Healthcare workers in the State. This included N95 respirators, surgical masks, isolation gowns, medical goggles, hand sanitizers and IEC materials.
The handing over ceremony was attended by members of the Kwara State Covid-19 Response Team chaired by the Deputy Governor Mr. Kayode Alabi, and other members of the team, including Honorable Commissioner for Health Dr. Raji Razak, Chairman House of Assembly Committee on Health, Hon Owolabi, Special Adviser to the Executive Governor on Health matters Prof. Wale Suleiman, Executive Secretary Kwara State Health Insurance Agency Dr. Bunmi Jetawo-Winter.
